        In the beginning was the Cosmic Void (Ginnungagap) and in this void came together Niflheim and Muspellsheim. One of the worlds emerged from this matter, the first Gods Odin, Vili, and Ve created it known as (Earth) Midgard. Now Midgard had oceans, land, and sky it was full of animals, plants and other life forms. The Gods created humans from two living trees Askr and Embla, the first man and woman. The humans multiplied and roamed all over Midgard.
        There were other gods and goddess that came to Midgard in those times. One named Surtr (the god who destroys by fire) made a garden in Midgard. A story claims he made a man from red clay and a woman from the rib of the man. As time went on he grew angry with them and drove them from the garden to make life hard for them; even so they had two male children. The boys grew and one day they offered to their god the fruits of their labors, one brought an offering from the soil and the other an offering from his flock. Their god chose the animal offering and so the other brother grew angry and killed his brother. Their god cursed him and sent him to the land of nod. He went out to this land and found some other people, found a wife and had children. Now the first man and woman that Surtr made gave birth to another male child he found a wife and his descendants made a religion to worship Surtr as a god whose name could not be spoken.
        Many years passed and the Romans took over the place where the people of the god, whose name could not be spoken lived. When the god Loki saw this, he knew it was his chance to help Surtr, so he shape changed himself into a human. He became a rebel against the Romans known as Jeshua he said that he came not to bring peace but a sword (the sword of Fray to give to Surtr). The Romans put him to death due to this political rebelliousness, being a god he appeared to come back to life and a new religion grew from stories about him. Loki returned to Asgard and during a gathering he insulted the Gods. For this and his role on Midgard as a rebel he was chained never to go there again. So he vowed to cause earthquakes in one place after another.
        From the south the new religion moved north to destroy all other religions of Midgard. Surtr and Loki knew that the Great God Odin was gathering Heroes to Valhalla for the Ragnarok. With their new religion they could eliminate many heroes before they could win a place in Valhalla. Through influence on many of the Kings and other leaders the new religion was able to convert people to their side. The conversion did not work as planed. Because the people still had a Folk Soul, so they modified the new religion to fit in with the heathen rituals and holidays.
        Today there is a revival of the old religion; because the names of the weekdays were the Northern Gods and Goddess, we would repeat them and never forget. Due to our Gods and Goddess the work of the Asatru Alliance, Asatru Folk Assembly, and other True Folk the religion of Asatru Lives!
